Dragon Quest XI Sells 6 Million
Square-Enix have announced that worldwide shipments for Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age have surpassed the 6 million mark.
To commemorate the milestone of 6 million copies, the download version of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will be on sale from Friday, September 25 to Thursday, October 8 on the Japanese Switch eShop. The 6 million number includes physical shipments, digital sales, and copies bundled with hardware.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age originally released in Japan in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS, with a western localisation coming the following year on PlayStation 4 and PC. The Definitive Edition launched on Nintendo Switch in 2019, and will also be released for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One this December.
In related news: both Dragon Quest XI S and Dragon Quest Builders 2 will see lower priced versions on sale in Japan on December 4 where they each will be priced at ¥5,478 (including tax) for either packaged or download versions (currently they are ¥8,580). The DLC bundle of Builders 2 will also be priced at ¥8,888 (currently it is ¥11,990).
