Nintendo’s Release Calendar Updated
Nintendo have updated the release calendar for upcoming Nintendo Switch software including Pikmin 3 Deluxe, which was announced yesterday…
The current first party release schedule sees Pikmin 3 Deluxe as the only title with a definitive date (October 30, 2020). Both Famicom Tantei Club games (Kieta Koukeisha and Ushiro ni Tatsu Shoujo) are still listed as 2020 release in Japan (neither title is listed in the English release calendar). The Crown Tundra for Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass is still scheduled for release in the Fall.
First party games which are still listed as “TBA” include Bayonetta 3 (which is being developed by PlatinumGames), Metroid Prime 4 (which is being developed by Retro Studios), New Pokémon Snap, and the long-awaited unnamed follow-up to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Bravely Default II will also be published by Nintendo in the west (Square-Enix are publishing the game in Japan), where it is listed as “2020”.
Nintendo say that they “will work to keep the platform active with new titles and by reinforcing sales of popular titles that have already been released”, although no new titles have been made official. No new titles have been announced on smartphones either, with Nintendo stating that instead, they “will focus on operations that encourage more consumers to continue to enjoy playing the applications that have been previously released”.
