Nintendo Switch System Update

Nintendo have updated the Nintendo Switch system to Version 10.1.0 with “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.”

This is the fifth minor system update for Nintendo Switch since the major Version 10.0.0 update on April 13/14. You can read more about that update (which added a bookmark feature to News, transfer software data between system memory and SD card, remap controller buttons, 6 Animal Crossing: New Horizons icons, and more) at this post.

In related news: the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app has also been updated to Version 1.13.0 where “Support for the iPad multitasking feature has been added.” Future maintenance is also planned for July 21 from 13:00~14:00 JST (July 20 from 21:00~22:00 PT). Network services may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance.

And in further news: the Japanese only My Nintendo app was also recently updated to Version 1.3.0 with an “Adjusted screen layout to improve usability” as well as “General bug fixes.” Read more about the app, which launched in Japan back in April of this year and is currently not even scheduled for western release, at this post.

Performing the System Update:

In most situations, the Nintendo Switch console will automatically download the most recent system update while it is connected to the internet. You can verify your current system version and manually start the update from the System Settings menu if necessary.

Select ‘System Settings’ from your Nintendo Switch home screen
From ‘System Settings’: select ‘System’, and then ‘System Update’
