Thursday Update:Yokai Watch 4 Delayed, Disaster Report 4 Announced, Super Mario Maker 2 News, Plus Much More!

● Just three weeks away from launch, Level-5 announced they have delayed the release of their first major Nintendo Switch exclusive Yokai Watch 4: Bokura wa Onajikara o Miage Tale by a fortnight, to 20 June, in order to improve the quality of the finished product.

● Granzella announced Zettai Zetsumei Toshi4Plus – Summer Memories – for Nintendo Switch (Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories) as coming to Switch this September in Japan. Check out the promo video and box art at this post.

● Check out yesterday’s full Super Mario Maker 2 Nintendo Direct recap and presentation at this post and the website here. The game is available to preload priced at ¥6,458 and requiring 2.8 GB.

● Nintendo announced a Nintendo Catalog Ticket (Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers) promotion for Nintendo Switch Online members who can purchase a set of two vouchers for ¥9,980 that can be used for first-party games including Astral Chain, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Super Mario Maker 2. ● The Japanese release of Fire Emblem Fuuka Setsugetsu (Fire Emblem: Three Houses) is not listed as having English language support, making this the third first-party game (fourth if considering Xenoblade 2 as two releases) to do so.

● Check out the full list of spirits in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Suit Up! event, which begins in a few hours, and includes artwork for Dr. Wily, Jeff, Party Phil, and Kazuhira Miller, at this post.

● Ninjara vs Mechanica ‘Martial Artistry’ takes place in the second semi-final of the ARMS Party Crash Bash tournament beginning on 24 May, with the winner taking on Min Min in the grand final next month.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version! (Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum’n’Fun!) has sold 600,000 copies world-wide. The game also added the free two-player one-on-one battle-only Donkatsu Fight mode. Check out the new promo video and TV commercial at this post.

● Lose effectively confirmed the visual novel Maitetsu -Pure Station- for Japanese Switch release, acknowledging the overseas announcement and saying wait for the Japanese one! Check out the trailer for the game here.

● The next DLC character in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch will be Ribrianne, who arrives as part of the Ultra DLC Pack 1 in June.

● The Greatest Goku event has begun in Dragon Ball FighterZ where winning as Goku (Base character, Super Saiyan, SSGSS, GT) will gain you in-game prizes.

● Hamster announced the 1988 Irem vertical shoot ’em up Arcade Archives IMAGE FIGHT for release on the Nintendo Switch eShop next week (23 May) priced at ¥823 or equivalent.

● Mighty Craft announced that the adult mahjong game Super Real Mahjong PVI will release on the Japanese Nintendo Switch eShop next week (23 May) priced at ¥1,980. The original Super Real Mahjong PV game released earlier this year and had to be re-censored.

● Early purchases of Hopping Girl Kohane Jumping Kingdom -Kuro Usagi no Hime- will receive free costume DLC. The game is available to preload now, priced at ¥1,296, with the DLC available until 31 July. Check out the new gameplay trailer here.

● Thousand Games announced that Synaptic Drive is still aiming for release this year, they’re now developing the beta version phase, the design of characters and stages is also almost decided, and they will announce the contents by mid-September.

● RED FLAG SHIP updated EVE Burst Error R to Version 1.0.2 with bug fixes.

● Double Drive updated Zombies Mansion (Undead’s Building) to Version 1.1.0 adding in additional free stages.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will see Jacques, Astrid, Groucho, Spike, and Bruce all arrive soon. All five will be available again via Blathers’s Treasure Trek. Today also saw the arrival of Apollo’s Cinema Cookie. Check out the items and videos at this post.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw a new map in Tactics Drills: Skill Studies.

● Check out this week’s Nintendo-only Famitsu software and hardware charts, with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at number one, here and this week’s Nintendo-only Famitsu Most Wanted, with Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete S at number one, here.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares dropped by -530 (1.42%) in Japan today to close trading for the day at 36,880.00 JPY.

● PQube Games announced they will be publishing JFI Games’ Dusk Diver for the west this Autumn on both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, in North America and Europe. Check out the announcement trailer here.

Sony Corporation and Microsoft Corp. announced they are both exploring a strategic partnership for new cloud-based solutions for gaming experiences and AI solutions, in what is likely a response to Google.

● In new game announcements for the Japanese Mega Drive Mini: Daimakaimura, Street Fighter II Dash Plus CHAMPION EDITION, Rockman Mega World, Golden Axe, The Super Shinobi, Phantasy Star IV 〜The End of the Millennium〜, The Story of Thor 〜Hikari wo Tsugu Mono〜, Puzzle & Action: Ichidant-R, Party Quiz Mega Q, and Yuu Yuu Hakusho: Makyou Toitsusen.

● The western Genesis Mini (and again, Mega Drive Mini in Europe!): Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, Beyond Oasis, Golden Axe, Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium, Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball, Vectorman, and Wonder Boy in Monster World.

● And last but never least: Kinopio-kun updated the official Nintendo LINE account with food images in Kirby Star Allies, Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Check out all the artwork here.
